Champions League 2019/20

During the first group stage matches of this year’s Champions League competition, there were some surprising results. Defending champions Liverpool FC fell to defeat in Napoli to get their defence off to a poor start, while FC Barcelona could only take a point from their trip to face Borussia Dortmund.

PSG laid down an early marker with a fine victory over Real Madrid and it is as you were for Atletico Madrid and Juventus – a 2-2 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Salzburg sizzled, Atalanta were awful and Manchester City proved you don’t have to have fit centre-backs to win against Shakhtar Donetsk.

As the action continues this week, Liverpool will be looking to bounce back when they play Salzburg, whilst Manchester City will look to continue their push for big results against Dinamo Zagreb. Chelsea will be hoping for their first win whilst Tottenham will be looking for better than just a draw.
